5 Ways to Motivate Yourself Every Day

Motivation is something that you need to constantly work at. With so many distractions around today, it is all too easy to fall into the procrastination trap which will scupper your plans and could lead to you failing with your goals. If you lose your focus, then you will lose your motivation.

If you really want to grow and achieve challenging goals, then you will need every drop of motivation that you can muster. You may be tired and need that extra motivation to complete an important task. Motivation is a state and if you are not careful your state can change, and it will make you feel like giving up.

So, what do you do? Well, we recommend that you have a daily routine that will boost your motivation levels. This routine will encourage you to get out of bed early and tackle the challenges that lie ahead for the day. So here are 5 ways that you can motivate yourself each day:

1. Set Inspiring Goals

If you do not have goals, then you will find it very hard to motivate yourself. When you do set your goals, they need to inspire you. Write your goals down and carry them around with you at all times. Read them first thing every day to energize you and drive up your motivation levels.

Add emotion to your goals. Write down why you want to achieve them and how you will feel when they are accomplished. These feelings need to be strong so that they will motivate you to get started right away and not stop until you have finished your daily activities.

2. Plan the Day Before

Here is a simple but effective tip to boost your motivation. At the end of each day create a plan for the next day. This can be in the form of a simple to-do list. You will gain clarity from this which is always good for staying motivated. If you start your day off without a plan, then your lack of organization will frustrate you and your motivation levels will drop.

3. Get a good night’s rest

Getting the right amount of sleep is very important for your motivation. If you are tired when you get up it is going to be a lot harder to find the motivation that you need for the day. So, determine how much sleep you need to awaken refreshed and energized and do everything that you can to get this amount of sleep.

4. Avoid Distractions

Distractions are all around us from social media to TV to others who will happily waste your time talking about unimportant things. The first step here is to accept that certain things distract you and then you need to figure out how to eliminate them.

So, for example if you like spending time on social media sites allocate a time during the day to do this. Don’t jump on your phone as soon as you get a notification. Chances are it will be something really unimportant and could lead you to spending more time reading and responding to messages. Distractions are motivation killers so take this seriously.

5. Utilize your “Best” Time

We all have different times of the day when we are the most creative, most effective and so on. For some people this is in the morning and for others it is late at night. So, find out when your best times are to do certain things and utilize this properly.
